THE DUNES: Sampieri Beach is a sandy beach about 2 km long, dominated by sand dunes with typical Mediterranean vegetation. The beach begins near the town of Sampieri and ends after 2km where there are the ruins of the ancient furnace Penna, taken several times in the fiction of Inspector Montalbano.
ISOLA DEI PORRI (leek Island): can be reached by boat in 20 minutes. The island is a perfect natural reserve in which you can do snorkeling or an excursion. The biggest rocky reef is a little more than 100 meters large. Due to the modest size, the only plant present on the island is the leek, hence the name.
